2. Council to conduct/conclude interviews;
3. Council Members to recommend appointment(s); and
4. Council to Adopt Resolution, Ratifying the Mayor's Recommended Appointments to the Planning Commission.

REPORT NARRATIVE:
At the meeting of June 3, 2015, the City Council interviewed 4 of the 11 applicants seeking to be appointed/re-appointed to fill four (4) terms on the Planning Commission: Joe Mueller, Gregory Ruebusch, Wayne Tanda and Patricia Toombs. At a special meeting held on July 8, 2015, the City Council interviewed: Heather Buckingham, James Dill, Liam Downey, Zenon Komarczyk, and Robert Pollard. Mr. Thomas Spitters was unable to proceed with the interview process. Due to prior commitments, the City Council agreed to conduct a teleconference interview with Mr. R.J. (Joe) Cassibba. However, due to technical difficulties, the City Council was unable to conclude its interview with Mr. Cassibba. The City Council requested that Mayor Tate interview Mr. Cassibba. Mr. Cassibba was able to meet and interview with Mayor Tate on July 14, 2015. Following the interview, Mayor Tate is recommending that Mr. Cassibba be interviewed by the entire City Council on August 5, 2015 before proceeding with recommended appointments.
It is recommended that the City Council conclude the Planning Commission interviews and that the City Council identify its top four (4) candidates, plus one (1), as deemed appropriate. During the August 5, 2015 Council meeting, Mayor Tate will review Council recommended appointments; followed by a request to adopt a Resolution ratifying his recommended appointments to the Planning Commission. Please note that appointees' names' were not included in the resolution as it is unknown who the four appointees will be until the conclusion of the interview process. The appointees' names will need to be added to the resolution prior to its adoption by the City Council.
Attached are the ten (10) Planning Commission applications for Council consideration: Heather Buckingham; R.J. (Joe) Cassibba; James Dill; Liam Downey; Zenon Komarcyzk; Joseph Mueller; Robert John Pollard; Gregory P. Ruebusch; Wayne Tanda and Patricia Toombs.
Also attached are: the Council's Fundamental Principles for a Recruitment, Interview and Appointment Process; the process the Council uses to fill vacancies on boards and commissions, Chapter 2.22 - Master Provisions for Boards and Commissioners, and Chapter 2.36 - Planning Commission (Morgan Hill Municipal Code).
