RECOMMENDATION(S)
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt resolution superseding Resolution No. 15-125, which approved the Memorandum of Understanding with the POA effective July 2015 - December 2018 and corresponding salary schedules, to replace the Memorandum of Understanding and corresponding salary schedules in its entirety with the attached revised version.

REPORT NARRATIVE:
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and corresponding salary schedules with the Morgan Hill Police Officers' Association (POA) was approved by Council on June 3, 2015 ("Original MOU"). After a final review of the Original MOU, staff realized that an important condition regarding officers' specialty pay that was highlighted for Council in the staff report and oral report was not included in the actual text of the Original MOU.

The Staff Report for the June 3, 2015 meeting included the following summary of the specialty pay change:

"Conversion of 5% Specialty Pay to Flat Rate
Employees hired and working in a specialty assignment such as: School Resource Officer, Investigations (Detective), Task Force Officer, or Traffic Officer prior to June 30, 2015, shall have their five percent (5%) specialty pay converted to a fixed amount, or $250.00 per pay period, whichever is greater effective July 6, 2015.
