REPORT NARRATIVE:
The City has contracted for janitorial services at key public facilities for several years. When bids were last solicited for these services in 2014, Firato Service Company was awarded the bid. Since Firato has performed well at some locations during the two-year term of their contract, City staff recently entered into discussions with Firato representatives about possibly extending the contract along with needed service improvements at the Centennial Recreation Center and Aquatics Center. Firato re-evaluated their staffing plans and determined that they could meet the City's needs with a slight increase in staffing hours. City staff evaluated the proposed modest increases and determined that the City's interests would be best served by extending Firato's agreement for another year with the needed increases. The end result will be enhanced facility maintenance along with the continuity and avoided disruption that comes with utilizing an existing contractor.

In addition, the City determined that adding additional services to the scope would better serve the facilities and their customers. Services added include an annual stripping of the hallway floors at the Centennial Recreation Center, the addition of air fresheners in facility locker rooms, and the weekly cleaning of the lifeguard room.
