REPORT NARRATIVE:
Each year, the Library, Culture and Arts Commission (LCAC) and the Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC) submit work plans for approval by the City Council. After approval by the Council, the commissions use these work plans to guide their work over the next year.
In development of this year's proposed work plans, both the LCAC and the PRC reviewed the Council priorities and goals for 2015 to attempt to align their work with the Council. Additionally, the commissions held a special combined meeting in May, at which the Mayor presented an update on the goals and priorities and engaged the commissioners on who the commissions could help support work in these areas. Some of the key areas of alignment include continued support of downtown improvements, master plan update support, support of community events, and support in the planning for new parks.
The commission's work plans are attached.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Consult
The Commissions planning for the development of these Work Plans occurred at noticed public meetings of the PRC and the LCAC.
