Title

FIRST AMENDMENT TO BURR PLUMBING AND PUMPING, INC. AGREEMENT

END

RECOMMENDATION(S)

RECOMMENDATION

Adopt resolution approving the First Amendment to the Maintenance Services Agreement with Burr Plumbing and Pumping, Inc.

BODY

COUNCIL PRIORITIES, GOALS & STRATEGIES:

Ongoing Priorities

Maintaining fiscal responsibility

REPORT NARRATIVE:

The City has contracted with Burr Plumbing and Pumping, Inc. for on-call plumbing services since November 2015.  The attached First Amendment is adding grease interceptor cleaning and pumping services, to the potential services listed in Exhibit B of the on-call plumbing services contract.  The term of the agreement is unchanged and remains in effect until June 30, 2018.  The total agreement amount is unchanged at $75,000.

The sole purpose of this agenda item is to add pumping and cleaning of the grease trap interceptors and associated pricing, to the services that may be performed by Burr Plumbing and Pumping, Inc’s per its on-call plumbing maintenance service agreement.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:                     Not Applicable

ALTERNATIVE ACTIONS:

The Council could decide not to approve this First Amendment, but that is not recommended as there is a need for the pumping and cleaning of the grease trap interceptors at the Centennial Recreation Center and the Aquatics Center on a quarterly basis.

PRIOR CITY COUNCIL AND COMMISSION ACTIONS:

The Council approved the Original Maintenance Services Agreement with Burr Plumbing and Pumping, Inc. on November 4, 2015.

FISCAL AND RESOURCE IMPACT:

The recommended action does not increase the total amount of the agreement, and therefore no budget adjustment is required because the City’s adopted budget for Building Maintenance, Park Maintenance and Street Maintenance has included funding for this work.

CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act):

Categorical Exemption

The activities described in this Staff Report are categorically exempt under CEQA, specifically pursuant to Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines (Existing Facilities), as the subject work involves the repair, maintenance or minor alternation of existing City facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use of those facilities.
