REPORT NARRATIVE:
Since Fiscal Year 2013/14, the City Council has allocated $20,000 annually to support the Healthier Kids Foundation (HKF), a program to increase the number of children within Morgan Hill that have health insurance. In 2013, it was estimated that over 11% of Morgan Hill's children did not have health insurance, although they were eligible for it. The goal of this outreach program has been to identify and then subsequently work to provide assistance to families so that these children are enrolled in the health insurance for which they are eligible. HKF's Morgan Hill staff member works out of the City's Friendly Inn Non-Profit Center part-time. The attached report from HKF provides a current update on the status of these efforts.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Inform
The program was initiated in response to a need identified by the City Council. The Healthier Kids Foundation has worked to inform the community about the availability of health insurance to all children and additionally performed dental and vision screenings throughout the community. The Morgan Hill Unified School District and City have supported the outreach effort to residents.
